Why should anyone have a blog?
- A personal blog is far more secure than social networking sites such as FaceBook. In order to allow third party apps such as games and other features, social sites have to lower their security standards making it easier to hack member's accounts.
Presently, FaceBook is a hot target for hackers, mainly because of it's
popularity.
- Privacy! Did you know that sites like FaceBook, Google, Flickr, etc actually have the right to use your images and photos in ANY way they wish. Just check out their Terms Of Service (TOS). They generally won't use them, but they can.
- Those gaming/ entertainment apps on sites like FaceBook, CAN and DO sell your information, which is why it's free to play those games, answer questions about one another.
- You have FAR more control and flexibility with your own site. You decide who sees what and how it's displayed. You can also decide whether or not your site is found in searches from the Search Engines.
- You can monetize it and keep the profits. You can place ads such as Pay Per Click (PPC), sell your own products or promote someone else's. You can charge a fee for people to access a private "member's only" area. You can even make it an online store.
- Employers search online for new hires. An online resume or portfolio could really make you stand out from all the others. The Blog format is excellent for creating this.
- You can incorporate video chats, photo slideshows, videos into a blog with the knowledge that they will NOT be shared unless you allow it.

- Those with friends and families that are spread all over the country or the World. You can have a private place where you can all share, show off for the world to see, or do a combination of the two. You have control.
- Those who run clubs and organizations- can use a blog as a centralized meeting place available 24/7. It's a great place to post upcoming events, engage discussions, have instant access to meeting minutes, contact info, post fund raisers, sell items in a club store, use to recruit new members. Clubs/ organizations can allow free access or charge a fee.
- Job seekers- a great way to create a unique and even interactive Resume or portfolio.
- Blogs are fantastic for selling your products ( or promote someone else's). The Search Engines LOVE blogs and they are usually listed before traditional sites.
- A blog is for Anyone who wants to share their favorite hobby, pastime, or opinions and views.
